News Announcement - Mobile App Campaign for CarpeDM

Naza Shelley was tired of wasting time swiping through mountains of incompatible matches and going on disappointing first dates. But unfortunately, she could also not find a dating service that catered to women like her, especially during COVID-19. From these frustrations, CarpeDM was born. Together with her best friend from Howard Law School, Sali Hama, they created CarpeDM, a personalized matchmaking app for Black professional women. CarpeDM serves its members high-quality matches from a community of qualified, vetted, and verified singles looking to date amazing Black women.

Spring 2021

Challenge

CarpeDM wanted to be established as the premier dating community for professional Black women and those worthy and interested in dating them in the Washington Metropolitan Area. However, with popular dating apps saturating the market, we were charged with finding ways to gain share of voice and position.

Opportunity

We developed a program to increase brand visibility and raise awareness about their product through media sources that reach target members. Ultimately, to convert readers to members, have them download the app and apply to join the CarpeDM community. This program included reaching out to dedicated US markets in technology and lifestyle.

Effects

Our results included regular national online placements in 21 Ninety, YourTango, and other American national outlets and coverage in 100% of the brands' key growth markets that drove instant traffic to their site and social networks. CarpeDM received funding from Virginia Founders to fuel the company's customer acquisition strategy in 2021.

We can successfully drive traffic and amplify your brand through earned media.
